Family Court Litigation

Litigation is the traditional method for having a court resolve legal disputes. This process involves sworn documents and testimony of the parties and other witnesses. It is also the most time consuming and costly of the alternatives for resolving family disputes. The benefit of using the court to resolve disputes applies in cases when the parties cannot or will not cooperate or abide by voluntary agreements. When a Judge makes an order and a party disobeys the order, the Court can impose sanctions and order compliance by fines, incarceration or other coercive methods.
