Collaborative Divorce Law
Attorney Harper is a certified collaborative divorce practitioner. Collaborative divorce is a confidential process to allow the parties to resolve the dissolution of their marriage in private. This is an interdisciplinary process which brings together financial specialists, mental health coaches and attorneys, as appropriate. Court involvement is limited to two items, the first being the initiation of the case and the second, presenting the agreement to a Judge to terminate the marriage. The goal of the process is the production of a separation agreement collaboratively arrived at by the parties. This agreement is the product of the collaborative efforts of the multi-disciplinary professionals who provide guidance and the parties' reciprocal voluntary compliance of full disclosure. This process encourages parties to explore options and to consider and implement creative solutions. This process provides control and autonomy for the parties. It allows them the ability to restructure the family according to the unique individual needs of the parties and their children.
